Statute

Whereas, the South Pacific Island of Niue is Talossanistic in its approach to reality, having bravely declared its tiny independence in 1974, and,

Whereas, Niue is the world's only entirely Wi-Fi Nation, which is obviously extremely cool, and,

Whereas, Niue, being a Sovereign Nation, has its own internet domain suffix (.nu), and,

Whereas a recent cyclone has devastated the tiny nation to the extent that much of its small population has run for the safety of New Zealand, and,

Whereas the government of Niue is considering abdicating its very nationhood to join with the nation of New Zealand,

Therefore, the Ziu hereby resolves to encourage the people of Niue to stick to their guns, remain independent, sell more domain names, and not abandon their sovereignty, and

Further, the Ziu resolves to think nice thoughts about the people of Niue in their time of trouble, especially on the Niue Day of Waitangi, which is February Sixth.

Statute

WHEREAS the subject of marriage is burning up the airwaves of our Giant Friendly Neighbour, the USA; and
WHEREAS some questions regarding the definition of marriage have been
brought up; and
WHEREAS we are, as usual, eager to straighten (pardon the pun) out the situation,
THEREFORE the Ziu proclaims and defines marriage thusly:

Marriage is a civil right, guaranteed to all citizens of proper age. It is a contractual agreement between parties, signed onto by their own consent, and is a guaranteed right regardless of sex or sexual orientation. Any sacredness of marriage is between the parties involved and is a strictly personal issue. The Kingdom of Talossa recognizes any and all marriages that fall under this definition, hereby re-asserting the rights given to us by the Organic Law of Talossa. In addition, we would also like to provide Talossan Invincible Moral Support to those citizens of our Giant Friendly Neighbour who themselves are seeking to have the laws of that country reflect the far more progressive laws of the Kingdom of Talossa.
