Biography

Sometimes referred to as the Social Consciousness of Talossa, J. Eiffler is one of the only old growth citizens to never hold the title Prime Minister.

This has been by choice.

Eiffler officially became a citizen of Talossa April 7, 1985 yet his involvement with Talossa precedes this date by 5 years when in 1980 when he discovered that recently befriended school mate Ben Madison had seceded his bedroom from the US during the winter break.

In response to this idea, he created the Kingdon of Thord, declaring his own bedroom an independent nation in 1980. Along with J. Jahn and Ben, he helped form the original League of Singular Secessions (now the League of Secessionist States) which he named because he felt the acronym LOSS was perfect for the cause.

Eiffler offered Talossa moral support during the war with the Glib Room, but lost interest in the entire world of Talossa shortly afterwards. Things stayed this way until 1985 when he re-established contact with Ben, Dan Lorentz, and Jahn.

He was appointed the cabinet position of Minister of Culture in 1985, a post he held for several years, due to his involvement with the theatre.

Politically, Eiffler, along with D.Lorentz, B.Murphy and J. Macht became harsh critics of Jahn and his fascist modeled political parties and the rantings of Madison during the mid and late 80's. While being a political opponent of the King, he saw no problem working with King Robert to push forth agreeable legislation and has been consistently responsible for more legislative ideas than he has been credited for.

He has always viewed Talossa as a community of people with an interest in politics and the culture that surrounds those politics. Regardless of their political leanings, he has always been fascinated by people who can present opposing political view-points and do it well. He also believes that the best political debaters are people who recognize that these viewpoints do not completely define a person, but they do help make up a part of their philosophy of life.

In the late 80's he teamed up with S & J Macht to run a collection of unsuccessful liberally minded parties that opposed the right wing Benist and Jahnist parties of the day.

In January of 1989 after a particularly ruthless political campaign pitting J. Schnieder against King Robert, Eiffler became disgusted with the whole Talossan affair. He felt that it had degenerated to senseless bickering and personal atacks. He gave an exclusive citizenship resignation letter to Jahn's paper TNN the day after the election was over and walked away from the Talossan scene for numerous months.

After recognizing that he still had strong friendships with the people who had become Talossa, Eiffler rejoined in 1990.

Rejoining political forces with the Macht and Prachel at first, he eventually teamed up with Lorentz to form the Vacillation Party, the first joint effort between Lorentz & himself ever. While highly touted by the King, this party flopped miserably due to communication problems and flat out Talossan laziness. The party was only marginally active for a few years afterwards until it dissolved during the late 90's

In 1995 Eiffler was living in southern Mussolini Province when he discovered that his flat was in the canton of Florencia, named after former Queen Florence, one of his more memorable HS teachers. Seeing the opportunity, he proposed a new province to the King as a tribute to her and on January 26, 1996 Florencia Province was born.

Avoiding the totalitarian trappings of most of the other provincial governments, Eiffler drafted a constitution that was democratic. His thought was that it would be a safe haven for people who didn't want to be under some dictatorial provincial leader who had created nothing more than a "personal fantasy fiefdom" to play around with. The idea that the provinces should eventually have political powers and activity of their own was one that was pioneered by Eiffler. He is still waiting although Florencia has not turned into the safe haven it was intended to be.

During this same time, Eiffler was offered a seat on the Uppermost Cort. He willingly accepted the distinguished position to serve with W. Erni & J. Jahn. He did so from 1995-1998, until another political fallout between King Robert and he took place over citizens privacy regarding voting. Withdrawing from the Cort, Eiffler had become pretty much a political free-lancer with no specific political allegiance until 1999 when he discussed joining the PC with Madison.

Before he had a chance to weigh the decision thoroughly, he was informed that he had been accepted unanimously into the Progressive Conservative Party, an honor he chose not to refuse.

Remaining Amish until fall of 1999, Eiffler finally found a modem and a PC that connected him to the rest of the world where he has been ever since.

In 2000 Eiffler became Govenor of the province in agreement with Maxime Charbonneau, the only other active citizen provincially.

In Spring of 2002 Eiffler successfully ran for Florencia's Senate seat in a bizarre election that granted this province some of its first real positive publicity. This was amazing considering the political diversity that has been the trademark of Florencian citizens.

His first duty was to update the provincial constitution before he stepped down from his Governors seat, to take on his newly elected role in the Ziu.

In summer and fall of 2003 Eiffler achieved new political heights when his perserverence and manner not only helped him outlast the other six Talossan Senators to become the Senate Mencei, but his continued vigilence as a citizen allowed him to outlast an Uppermost Cort "house cleaning" which has made him Senior UC Justice.

Other

For over a decade there was one existing performance of the Talossan national anthem written by J. Jahn.

Performed by Cestour C. Hagensick, that performance was commissioned, directed, and engineered by J. Eiffler in 1991 and presented to the nation at its anniversary party held at the Gaye's house that same year.

The continued existence of that taped performance is currently unknown to its sponsor, although with the advent of technology, several midi versions of this work have been created and are lurking around Talossa somewhere.
